Blackbird

I always imagined a show where all the members on stage were racialized,

and where the music and body movement on stage came from the African diaspora.

From there the idea of BLACKBIRD, a show where in each act I go through phases of my life

as a racialized person in Brazil and in Europe.

But my story is not solely mine: it's that of many.

With this show I intend to make visible structural problems in our society, such as racism and xenophobia.

I have been waiting for a long time for a director who is committed to this type of cause,

and that I do not try to exoticize myself on stage.

I did not find it. So I decided to do it myself.

I've been developing parts of the show on my own for a while now without any resources or help.

And in order to make it happen, I already start to have some expenses such as:

pay for music classes, pay the musicians who accompany me, rent rehearsal rooms, transport, etc.
